Laundry Baskets & Storage Totes
Rigid type plastics such as laundry baskets, storage totes, garbage cans, etc. are difficult to recycle. We currently cannot take them in the recycling. These items should go into your trash when they reach end of life.
Heat-Resistant Ovenware
This item cannot currently be recycled at Buena Vista County Recycle Center through the curbside program. You can place these items in our scrap metal container at our facility. We encourage you to donate useable items to resale shops.
Ceramics & Pottery
This item cannot currently be recycled at Buena Vista County Recycle Center. Useable items should be donated to charity or resale shops. Broken items should be discarded in your garbage.
Window & Mirror Glass
Mirror glass cannot be recycled due to the coating on the glass. Window glass cannot go into your curbside cart to be recycled. Styrofoam

Disposable Dishware
Disposable plates, cups and silverware are not recyclables. These items should go in your regular trash. We encourage the use of washable table service whenever possible to reduce waste going to the landfill.
Paper Towels & Tissues
Paper towels, facial tissues, and basically any disposable paper item (toilet paper, paper plates, cups, etc., items used with bodily fluids) used to clean up or eat with is not recyclable. These items should go into your regular household trash.
Hardcover Books
This item cannot currently be recycled at Buena Vista County Recycle Center. Remove the hardcover and discard it in your trash and then the paper can be recycled.
