Polystyrene, most commonly called Styrofoam, is not recyclable in our recycling program. This type of plastic is difficult to recycle and should be disposed of in your regular trash. This too will have the famous recycle symbol with the number 6 in it on the container or item and that number is actually used to identify the type of plastic and not that it is recyclable. These symbols are misleading to consumers. Please avoid placing any polystyrene in your recycling.
